Tom Gordon Marks Successful Fundraising with Visit to Harrogate District Hospital
Tom Gordon, Liberal Democrat MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough, visited Harrogate District Hospital with Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity to see the new fluid warming cabinet purchased thanks to his recent fundraising efforts.
Last year, Tom set himself the challenge of running two marathons, pledging to support a different local cause for each. After being overwhelmed by the number of incredible charities that reached out, Tom chose to raise funds for Open Country and Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity.
Tom set an ambitious target of £2,000, which he successfully achieved, splitting the funds equally between the two charities. Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity confirmed that Tom’s donation would go towards a fluid warming cabinet for hysteroscopy procedures– a vital piece of equipment that helps make the procedure significantly more comfortable for patients.
Tom said he was thrilled to take on this challenge as a way of showing his appreciation for the incredible charities across his constituency and raising much-needed funds to support their work.
Since being elected, Tom has worked closely with Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity, including hosting a parliamentary reception for their partner charity, the Great Start in Life Foundation, to help raise awareness of its vital work supporting the health and wellbeing of children and young people.
