What is Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity (HHCC)?
HHCC is the registered NHS charity for Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. We support patients, families our colleagues by raising funds to enhance equipment and initiatives that go beyond NHS funding.
We support a wide range of services across HDFT, including hospital wards, community services and specialist areas. As the largest provider of 0–19 services in England, HDFT supports children, young people and families both locally and across the North of England. Funding helps enhance patient care, improve environments, support staff wellbeing and provide additional equipment across community and acute settings, including Harrogate District Hospital and Ripon Community Hospital
Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity is the registered NHS charity for Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. We are closely linked to the Trust but operate as a separate registered charity.
The Great Start in Life Foundation is an arm of Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity that supports children, young people and families across HDFT’s 0–19 services. It helps to enhance Health Visiting and School Nursing services across a wide geographical footprint in the North of England.
The Foundation raises funds through donations, events and community fundraising to support projects that go beyond standard NHS funding.
By working alongside Health Visitors, School Nurses and wider children’s services, the Foundation helps ensure children and young people receive the best possible start in life across the communities we serve.

Your donation will help fund projects that enhance patient care and experiences across the Trust. This could include equipment, improvements to facilities, or support for patients, families and staff.
Yes. In many cases you can choose to support a specific ward, service or area. If you’re unsure, we can help direct your donation where it is most needed. We can provide advice, resources and materials to help make your fundraising a success, as well as ensure you have everything you need to promote your activity. Getting in touch early also helps us keep track of fundraising across the HHCC and offer any additional support where needed.

Yes, we can provide a range of resources and support to help with your fundraising activity. This may include guidance on getting started, promotional materials such as posters or digital assets, and advice on how to make the most of your fundraising.
If you are fundraising through JustGiving, you do not need to do anything further once your page is set up, as donations are automatically transferred to us.
If you have collected cash or cheques, you can bring your donation to the General Office at HDFT in the main entrance foyer or use one of our donation points located throughout the hospital.
