I am excited to take part in the 45th Great North Run on Sunday 13 September. I am running to raise funds for the Great Start in Life Foundation, which is part of HHCC. These funds will support children, young people and their families across the North and Yorkshire.
Completing a half marathon before I turn 45 has been a personal goal for many years. I have never taken part in an organised run before. However, running brings me a great sense of joy, so this challenge feels meaningful.
As the Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust has expanded across the North of England and Yorkshire, the Great Start in Life Foundation has become even more important. It raises funds to enhance the Health Visitor and School Nursing 0–19 service. As a result, children, young people and their families can access better support and enjoy a stronger start in life.
Finishing a half marathon will be a major achievement for me. I know it will be tough, yet I am committed to giving it my best. I have already started training, and I hope to complete the run with a strong finishing time.
By supporting my fundraising, you will help HHCC make a positive difference in communities across County Durham, Cumberland, Darlington, Gateshead, Middlesbrough, Northumberland, North Yorkshire, South Tyneside, Stockton-on-Tees, Sunderland, Wakefield and Westmorland-and-Furness.
I am truly grateful for any support or donations.
