After years of trying to secure a place in the Great North Run, I finally stepped back from applying. Even with my roots in the North East, this iconic half marathon has sat in the background for far too long — until now.
I’m running fewer miles these days, so I’ll need to train hard to reach half‑marathon distance again. Announcing this feels a little daunting, but it’s a challenge I’m genuinely excited to take on.
I’m raising money for HHCC to help enhance the Palliative and End of Life Care teams at HDFT. In my day‑to‑day role as a Marie Curie Volunteer Services Officer, I recruit, train, and support End of Life Support Volunteers. These volunteers provide emotional and practical support to patients in their final hours, days, and weeks of life, as well as to their families, carers, and those closest to them.
I’m committed to giving this run everything I’ve got, and I’m deeply grateful to everyone who chooses to sponsor me. Your generosity truly makes a difference. Thank you, sincerely, for your support.
