Since her twins started school in September 2025, Hannah has found herself adjusting to a new chapter in family life. What began as something she found emotionally challenging soon became a turning point, with running gradually becoming a positive outlet and focus for personal growth.
Although running was never something that came naturally, it has slowly become something she has come to love, both for the challenge it brings and the sense of progress it provides.
With this in mind, Hannah has signed up to complete the East Yorkshire Half Marathon. This represents both a personal challenge and an opportunity to raise vital funds for the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Harrogate District Hospital, the unit that supported her family during the early arrival of her twins in 2021 at just 29 weeks.
The SCBU holds a very special place in Hannah’s heart. During many days and nights spent on the neonatal ward, the care, compassion, and dedication of the staff made an immeasurable difference during what was an incredibly difficult time. The funds raised will contribute towards improvements to parent facilities for families currently on neonatal journeys, helping to create more comfortable and supportive spaces at a time when they are needed most.
This challenge is a small way of expressing Hannah’s lifelong gratitude to the team who cared for her family and gave her twins the very best start in life.
Any support, donations, or words of encouragement would be hugely appreciated.
