On 20 January 2026, members of team HHCC joined passionate members of Bettys & Taylors Group to celebrate a year of fundraising across the seven branches of the company. Gemma and Becca took part in the celebration with six other local charities. The event championed the passion shown by colleagues across each branch who nominated local charities to raise money for. HHCC are thrilled that Taylors of Harrogate chose us as their Charity of the Year.

In October 2024, Taylors of Harrogate identified Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity as their charity partner of the year. The focus of their fundraising was to enhance the parent and family rooms available at the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at HDFT. Having a dedicated fundraising target inspired and motivated team Taylors to raise a phenomenal £28,963.21 for the renovation.
Al Gayton, Charity Coordinator at Taylors said:
I think what has been a highlight for me this year is how much different teams and individuals have really gotten involved. All of that has galvanized to be able to raise the heights that we’ve raised as a charity team so far. It’s been a great year.
Over the course of 12 months, Team Taylors hosted a band night, a family football competition, festive wreath making and many more innovative fundraising ideas. In May, nine avid hikers took part in the National Three Peaks challenge with support from HHCC. This challenge alone saw them raise an outstanding £5,000. The master roasters even created a special “Three Peaks Blend” for staff to purchase with funds going towards their overarching target.

It’s been a joy for all of us at HHCC to work with everyone at Taylors of Harrogate throughout 2024 and 2025. This partnership has meant a great deal to us. We are grateful for the support and enthusiasm they brought to our work. Commenting at the event, Gemma Cook said:
Seeing all the comments on the fundraising pages was uplifting, motivating and often very moving. They show the strength of your team spirit and shared values. It was wonderful to see colleagues so openly supporting one another.
The renovation work is due to start on the SCBU facilities in April 2026. Subsequently, the impact of these changes would be significant for those accessing them. Having a baby born with unexpected complications is very challenging for families. The generous donation from Taylors of Harrogate can help give them a home away from home.
