How the Great Start in Life Foundation impacts our local community
The Great Start in Life Foundation will help Children, Young People and families throughout North Yorkshire to enhance the Health Visitor and School Nursing services we provide, to ensure the Children and Young People who access these services have a Great Start in Life. We fund specialist equipment, training and services, going above and beyond the provision of the services for Children, Young People and their families to help enhance treatment and facilities for all within North Yorkshire.
Our work benefits patients, their families and our workforce throughout the local area and we rely on the support of the community to raise funds. From “Stepping Up for GSIL” by taking on a marathon to having a local tea, coffee and cake morning, every effort you make will have an impact on the Children, Young People and their families across North Yorkshire.

Through your support, we have been able to distribute care packages to colleagues, enhance the environment and experiences of service users as well as distribute lots of fantastic Sparkle Awards to our teamHDFT colleagues and Volunteers that have gone above and beyond for our wonderful service users. The Great Start in Life Foundation has been able to provide games and craft supplies for the 5 to 19 Healthy Child team in Scarborough, as well as “Stepping up for HHCC” medals to a youth football team in Tadcaster for their engagement with the local community.
If you are part of a community group, school, Brownies or Cubs pack, or you just want to get a group of friends together to fundraise for us and would like more information about how you can get involved, please get in touch.
