All families with a child under five in Cumberland have access to a Growing Healthy 0 to 5 Team consisting of health visitors, Family Health Nurses, Child Development Practitioners. How the Great Start in Life Foundation impacts our local community
The Great Start in Life Foundation will help Children, Young People and families throughout Cumberland to enhance the Health Visitor and School Nursing services we provide, to ensure the Children, Young People and families who access these services have a Great Start in Life. We fund specialist equipment, training and services, going above and beyond the provision of the services for Children, Young People and their families to help enhance treatment and facilities for all within Cumberland.
Our work benefits patients, their families and our staff throughout the local area and we rely on the support of the community to raise funds. From “Stepping Up for GSIL” by taking on a marathon to having a local tea, coffee and cake morning, every effort you make will have an impact on the Children, Young People and their families across Cumberland.

Through your support, we have been able to distribute care packages to colleagues, enhance the environment and experiences of service users as well as distribute lots of fantastic Sparkle Awards to our teamHDFT colleagues that have gone above and beyond for our wonderful service users.
If you are part of a community group, school, Brownies or Cubs pack, or you just want to get a group of friends together to fundraise for us and would like more information about how you can get involved, please get in touch.
